Drop-in Craft Workshops for Festival Events

A collection of creative craft workshops that are perfect as drop-in attractions for summer festivals, parties, promotions or fun days.

Craft workshops are a relaxing and calming addition to any event, providing a “chill out” area and break from the party noise and excitement.

Guests take a mindful moment to create something either to wear or use for the event, or to enjoy at home.

Workshops are designed to sit up to 20 guests at any one time, and activities take up to 30 minutes each, running for up to 6 hours in total.

Guests can drop-in and take part any time, without the need for structured classes or a schedule.

Flower Crown Making

Guests make a flower crown, using fresh or faux flowers.

We’ll teach guests how to wire their flowers using professional floristry techniques.

Guests can choose from a variety of different coloured flowers so that everyone can make something that reflects their personality – or just matches their outfit!

They can then wear their flower crown with pride for the event!

Eco Water Bottle Painting

Guests design and paint their own reusable water bottle using glass pens.

Guests can write their name, draw a picture or design a pattern to make their very own unique water bottle.

They can use it for the event day and then take it home with them to stay hydrated wherever they go!

Neon Tote Bag Making

Guests design and create their own bespoke tote bag using light-up electro luminous wire.

We’ll show guests how to attach their EL wire to their bags to make their own designs.

Once finished, guests can wear their bags with pride for the event, bringing spectacle to the event even when the sun goes down!

Cap Decorating (Power required for heat press)

Guests design and personalise their own trucker cap.

Guests cut their designs from a selection of iron-on vinyl in different colours and finishes.

Guests can then proudly wear their cap with pride for the event and take it home to wear in the future!

Guests can choose from a range of coloured sunglasses to suit their style or match their outfit.

They can then use deco pens and stick-on decorations to make their sunglasses truly fabulous!

Guests can wear their shades with pride on the event day, to keep the sun out of their eyes, and can also take home to wear again.

With a wide range of decorations to choose from guests can personalise their hats using different coloured ribbons, pom poms, feathers and trimmings.

Guests can sew or even embroider their hats or can use super strong fabric glue to ensure their hats will see them through many festivals and garden parties to come!

Guests can wear their hats with pride on the event day, to keep the sun out of their faces, and can also take home to wear again.

Using traditional millenary equipment and techniques, guests can create a funky fascinator that is truly unique to them.

Guests can choose from a variety of different colours and materials to create a design that reflects their personality – or just matches their outfit!

Once finished, guests can wear their fascinator with pride for the event and can take it home to wear again in the future, for a wedding or special occasion (or just around the house!)

Jewellery Making

Selection of jewellery made in jewellery making workshop. Two crystal tiaras, one with red heart design, two beaded bracelets, two beaded cocktail rings and 3 crystal tie pins.

Guests make their own crystal jewellery such as bracelets, rings, tie pins, hair clips and even tiaras!

With sparkly crystals in a range of colours, shapes and sizes, guests can make jewellery that is totally unique to them.

The best part of this activity is seeing everyone wearing their creations! To add a bit of glamour to the event, guests can then wear their bling on the night.

They can then take their creations home to wear again or give as a gift.

Friendship Bracelet Making

Guests make their own friendship bracelets.

They can choose to make a traditional macrame bracelet using coloured threads and added beads and gems.

Or they can simply thread beads onto elastics to make beaded bracelets.

With beads in a range of colours, shapes, sizes and letters, guests can make personalised bracelets that are totally unique to them.

They can then take their creations home to wear again or give as a gift.

Hula Lei Making

MAn at summer festival wearing colourful flower crown and hula lei.

Guests make their own hula lei.

Using colourful fabric flower shapes and beads, guests can take a mindful moment to thread a hula lei to wear for the event.

This workshop is perfect for adding a colourful, summer feel to an event and goes particularly well alongside sunglasses decorating and flower crown making workshops, where event guests look wonderfully summery in their creations!

Lip Balm Making (Power required for wax melters)

3 black lipstick cases and 2 white lipstick cases, decorated with strawberry and cherry stickers and the word "kiss" to depict a lip balm making workshop.

Guests make their own lip balm using natural ingredients.

Guests can choose from beeswax or vegan wax, and nourishing oils and butters. (They can even add sun protection!)

They can then add flavours, colours, shimmers and glitters to make their lip balm unique to them (or just leave it natural!)

They can also decorate and personalise the lipstick tubes using mini stickers and stick-on gems.

Tote Bag Printing

Canvas tote bag featuring flower, butterfly and sun design, with lino printing tool and stamps to the side to depict lino printing workshop.

Guests print their own reusable tote bag.

Using stamps, stencils and printing blocks, guests can arrange prints to create an image or to make a repeat pattern.

Guests can then use their bags for the event and can then take it home to use in the future!

Arm Knitting - Scarf

Woman wearing arm knitting chunky purple scarf.

Guests learn the art of arm knitting to make a gorgeous snuggly chunky knit scarf.

We’ll teach guests how to use their arms in place of giant knitting needles in order to knit with super-sized vegan wool. And because it’s so big, you can knit a scarf in no time!

The result is a beautiful oversized handmade scarf, to keep you warm in the winter, or can be given as a luxurious gift.

Mindful Mandala Dotting

Pebble painted with colourful dots in mandala design.

A mindful and creative activity where guests relax and learn the art of mandala dotting to decorate pebbles.

We’ll teach guests the correct paints to use and how to use the dotting tools and templates to create unique designs.

Guests can then choose their colours and get dotting!

This activity is particularly mindful because the art of dotting is so meditative.

Guests then take their beautiful creations home with them.

Paint and Plant

Three hand painted plant pots. One has green cacti on a blue sky background, one has red and white spotted toadstools on a green background, one has blue flowers on a pink background. All contain houseplants.

A mix of two of our most mindful activities – painting and gardening!

Guests first paint their plant pot. They can use our stencils for inspiration or can come up with their own pictures or patterns.

We’ll then give them a plant to display in their pot!

We’ll also give guests instructions on how to care for their plant so that it will thrive even for serial houseplant killers!

Pottery Painting

Woman holding painted plates featuring fruit designs.

Guests decorate their own pottery.

We can offer a number of different ceramic projects and guests could paint mugs, coasters, cups, plates, bowls, vases, ornaments or seasonal items like garden gnomes or Christmas baubles!

We’ll show guests how to mark out their designs and create different effects so that everyone can make their own personalised pottery project.

Mini Terrarium Making

Two women holding small terrariums.

A mini version of our popular masterclass, guests establish their very own sustainable eco-system by creating a tropical “jarden” – living garden in a jam jar!

In the right conditions, closed terrariums create their own micro-climate, meaning they never need to be watered! Mosses and tropical plants can survive for years inside a closed jar without any help from us.

Our expert jardeners will be on hand to advise on planting techniques, how to build each layer and how to look after the terrarium afterwards so that the plants can thrive and eventually take care of themselves!

Bird Box Making (Noise warning - involves hammering!)

Bird box hanging on trellis surrounded by leaves.

Guests make their very own cozy bird house to provide a safe space for birds to shelter in the winter and breed in the spring.

Nest boxes are becoming vital for breeding birds and the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) is now calling for homeowners to put up more nest boxes for declining garden birds.

Guests will be guided through each step, assembling the bird box piece by piece. We’ll also give tips on the best places to put them, how to maintain them and how to attract visitors.

Candle Decorating

Candles painted in candle painting workshop. Jar candles and pillar candles painted with hearts and flower designs.

Guests decorate their own candles.

Guests can choose from a free-standing pillar candle, dinner candles or a container candle in a jar.

They then personalise their candles using paint pens, transfers and stick-on decorations.

Workshops can be themed, for example, Halloween or Christmas candles.

Guests can then take their candles to give as a gift or enjoy at home.

Scented Candle Making (Power required for wax melters)

Candle being made in candle making workshop. Purple candle with long wick in wick stabiliser and label that says "Lavender and Oud". Small purple tealights in foreground.

Guests make their own hand made scented container candle using vegan, soy wax.

Guests will be guided through each step from preparing the container, arranging the wick, adding dyes and fragrances, pouring the melted wax and decorating their candles.

They can also personalise their jar using labels or glass pens.

Guests then leave their candles to set for 30 minutes until they have a beautiful hand-poured soy wax candle to take home and enjoy!

Crystal Suncatcher Making

Sparkly suncatcher made in suncatcher making workshop, comprised of two metal rings and decorated with crystals, hanging outside in front of trees with sun shining on crystals.

Guests make their own sparkly crystal suncatcher.

With a range of shapes and coloured crystals to choose from, guests can create their design.

We’ll show guests how to attach crystals to make their suncatcher sparkle in the sun.

At the end of the activity guests can take home their handmade suncatcher to display with pride.

Wire Words

Two yarn covered wire shapes. One says "Love" in pink yarn with a heart in the middles. One is a sunflower made from yellow yarn loops with brown middle and green shaped into leaves.

Guests make their own wire words or shapes using bendy wire and cotton cord.

Guests can use our templates or can come up with their own design. We’ll show them how to bend the wire into the right shape and then cover it with cord.

With plenty of colours to choose from, guests can make something unique to them and can make names, words or shapes.

Creations can then be taken to give as a gift or display at home.
